JEFF ESTES

Jeff Estes began his career as an entrepreneur at the age of 16. A native of Jacksonville Florida, Estes and classmate Josh Toomer partnered to serve the growing demand for grounds control management and lawn care in the region. The two started a residential and light commercial landscaping company by acquiring clients too small for their at-the-time employer, Patton Enterprises. Through reputation for their high quality of work the company expanded rapidly, providing them with full time revenue while balancing academics and sports.

Headed to the University of Colorado in fall 2006, Estes left his company in the hands of new ownership. In 2009, as a result of the devastating effects the Mountain Pine Beetle had on Summit County’s Lodge Pole Pine population, Estes and former college roommate Tony Andriotis founded the Breckenridge Firewood Company. A regional provider of affordable firewood and tree removal services the company often partnered with the U.S Forrest Service in an effort to bolster fire mitigation and log removal. Reinvesting their efforts upfront, the Breckenridge Firewood Company became the top listed Google search for firewood west of the Mississippi River.

Switching pace from 2011-2016, Estes was the songwriter, guitarist, lead vocalist, and manager for Down Home Band.  In addition to producing several albums, the band toured nationally. Overlapping with his duties as frontman, Estes began to expand his creativity into freelance carpentry. In 2014, he became 50% ownership partner of Five String Furniture, providing build-outs, furniture, and fixtures for Nashville establishments. Estes eventually became majority owner, and the business expanded to serve and build for national clients including but not limited to: Budweiser, Moxy Hotels, Marriott, Cracker Barrel, Hattie B’s, Frothy Monkey, Holler and Dash, Slim and Huskies, Strategic Hospitality and Black Abbey Brewery.

While expanding Five String Furniture, Estes founded Loading Dock Nashville, a unique business concept designed to support and promote local artists and makers, while providing a venue for the community to appreciate and enjoy local talent. By the end of 2018 Estes  successfully sold both companies, which continue to expand with more locations and clients.

He now works in Nashville as a home builder, small business consultant and fabrication instructor.
